More than 400 Canadian artists from the worlds of music, movie and literature are denouncing what they describe as \u201calarming and destructive\u201d anti-trans laws in an open\u00a0letter\u00a0launched Sunday by music superstars Tegan and Sara.<\/p>\n

The listing of stars who signed the\u00a0letter\u00a0contains actor Elliot Page, Great Big Sea frontman Alan Doyle, actress Elisha Cuthbert, people music legend Neil Young, current Grammy winner Allison Russell and the 2 surviving members of traditional youngsters\u2019s leisure act Sharon, Lois and Bram.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe anti-trans policies taking root in Canada go beyond discrimination \u2014 they present a clear risk to the mental and physical well-being of trans individuals throughout the country,\u201d reads the\u00a0letter.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0letter\u00a0calls out Alberta Premier Danielle Smith\u2019s deliberate pronoun insurance policies for gender numerous youngsters in faculties, in addition to proposed restrictions for youth searching for gender-affirming care.
