\n\tTonight on SNL<\/a><\/em>, Ramy Youssef<\/a> appeared in a sketch parodying NPR<\/a>\u2018s Tiny Desk Concerts<\/a><\/em> sequence.<\/p>\n \n\tAfter singing a line from a tune, alongside band mates performed by Chloe Troast and James Austin Johnson, he tells a crowd assembled for the efficiency, \u201cThank you so much NPR. We are the Jonah Hughes Band. Now, that last one usually contains a lot more synth, but since this is a Tiny Desk<\/em> concert, we\u2019ve got to be quirking it up.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cYep,\u201d says Troast. \u201cThat\u2019s why I play a milk carton shaker.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tYoussef explains that Troast is often on the cello, including, \u201cWe\u2019ve never actually played in an office before, like a real one, but being here is a dream come true.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tBefore segueing into the band\u2019s subsequent tune, \u201cCrazy Girl, Amanda,\u201d Youssef is interrupted by Bowen Yang, taking part in an NPR staffer.<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cHey, guys. Can we be quiet please?\u201d Yang asks. \u201cSome of us are working.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cUh, sorry. What?\u201d Youssef replies.<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cYeah, we\u2019re on a call and right now, there\u2019s a little too much ruckus,\u201d Yang says.<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cOh, well we\u2019re doing a Tiny Desk<\/em> concert here. It\u2019s kind of a big deal for us,\u201d Youssef retorts.<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cYeah, well it\u2019s NPR,\u201d Yang sasses. \u201cEvery day is kind of a big deal for us.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tYoussef wonders whether or not this man is \u201cimportant here,\u201d with a personality performed by Sarah Sherman explaining, \u201cNo, that\u2019s Elliot. He\u2019s a new intern, but he\u2019s 35. He said he goes to SUNY Newark.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tAdds the NPR worker of Michael Longfellow, \u201cSomeone told me he\u2019s working on a podcast about \u2018AI and rural queers.’\u201d<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cYeah, it\u2019s beyond interesting actually, and I\u2019m excited to announce we\u2019ve landed on a title for my podcast,\u201d says Yang. \u201cIt\u2019s called, \u2018Beep boop, I\u2019m gay now.\u2019 It\u2019s a play on \u2018Wait wait, don\u2019t tell me,\u2019 but it\u2019s not funny at all.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tYoussef hosted tonight\u2019s episode, with Travis Scott as musical visitor.
