\n\tThe Berlinale<\/a> Film Festival has unveiled the jury members for its major International Competition, which will probably be presided over by Lupita Nyong\u2019o.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tThe members of the International Jury are American actor and filmmaker <\/em>Brady Corbet, Hong Kong filmmaker Ann Hui, German director Christian Petzold, Spanish filmmaker Albert Serra, Italian actress Jasmine Trinca, and Ukrainian novelist and poet Oksana Zabuzhko.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tNyong\u2019o\u2019s presidential appointment was introduced in December<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tThe competition additionally unveiled the three-member jury for its Encounters strand.\u00a0Lisandro Alonso (Argentina), Denis C\u00f4t\u00e9 (Canada), and Tizza Covi (Italy) will decide the competitors sidebar\u2019s Best Film, Best Director, and Special Jury award winners.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tThe 2024 Berlin Film Festival<\/a> runs Feb 15 \u2013 Feb 25. The competition opens with the Cillian Murphy film Small Things Like These<\/em>. The movie reveals truths about Ireland\u2019s Magdalen laundries \u2013 horrific asylums run by Roman Catholic establishments from the 1820s till 1996, ostensibly to reform \u201cfallen young women.\u201d It takes place over Christmas in 1985, when devoted father and coal service provider Bill Furlong (Murphy) discovers startling secrets and techniques saved by the convent in his city, together with some surprising truths of his personal. The film reunites director Tim Mielants (WIL<\/em>, De Patrick, The Responder<\/em>) with Murphy, who beforehand labored collectively on collection three of Peaky Blinders<\/em>.\u00a0<\/p>\n
