Didn\u2019t see that one coming! During the General Hospital: 60 Years of Stars and Storytelling<\/em><\/a> particular, Steve Burton<\/strong> appeared to announce his return to the long-running cleaning soap. The 53-year-old stepped out alongside co-stars Laura Wright<\/strong> and Kelly Monaco.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In the final moments of the particular, a set of doorways appeared. Laura walked out and stated, \u201cYou know what they say\u2026 when one door closes.\u201d Kelly walked by way of one other door and added, \u201cAnother door opens.\u201d<\/p>\n

Suddenly, the door within the center turned. Steve stepped by way of the doorway sporting Jason\u2019s signature leather-based jacket. \u201cHappy anniversary, General Hospital<\/em>,\u201d he started. \u201cStay tuned. Big things are coming to Port Charles.\u201d<\/p>\n

A day earlier than he introduced his General Hospital<\/em> return, Steve revealed that he was leaving Days of Our Lives<\/em>. \u201cWow! Well, I just shot my final scenes here on Days of Our Lives<\/em> and I just want to say, thank you so much to the cast [and] to the crew. It\u2019s been amazing,\u201d Steve stated in a video posted on YouTube<\/a>.<\/p>\n

He thanked his followers for all of their help. \u201cI\u2019m always so full of gratitude. So thank you. Stay tuned,\u201d the actor, who performed Harris Michaels, on the cleaning soap.<\/p>\n

Steve is returning to the General Hospital<\/em> position that made him well-known. The 53-year-old started taking part in Jason Morgan on the ABC cleaning soap in 1991. He was let go from General Hospital<\/em><\/a> in 2021 over the vaccine mandate.<\/p>\n

\u201cUnfortunately, General Hospital<\/em> has let me go because of the vaccine mandate,\u201d he stated on the time. \u201cI did apply for my medical and religious exemptions, and both of those were denied. Which, you know, hurts. But this is also about personal freedom to me. I don\u2019t think anybody should lose their livelihood over this.\u201d<\/p>\n

He continued, \u201cBut with that being said, I\u2019ll always be grateful for my time at\u00a0General Hospital. <\/em>I love it there. I grew up there. I grew up with some of you, so I\u2019ll always be grateful.\u201d<\/p>\n

In his assertion, Steve famous that \u201cwhen one door closes, multiple doors open. That\u2019s always been my perspective. So I am excited to see what the future brings, and maybe one day if these mandates are lifted, I can return and finish my career as Jason Morgan. That would be an honor. And if not, I\u2019m going to take this amazing experience, move forward, and be forever grateful.\u201d Just 3 years later, Steve is bringing all the things full circle and stepping again into Jason Morgan\u2019s footwear.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
