UK-based presenter and rock journalist Kylie Olsson<\/a><\/strong> has debuted a brand new episode of her AXS interview collection Life in Six Strings<\/em><\/a><\/strong>, that includes a dialog with Def Leppard<\/a><\/strong> guitarist Phil Collen<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n In the episode, Olsson will get a tour of Collen\u2019s guitars, noting that she may spend hours getting misplaced in his room of axes. He says, \u201cI\u2019m recording all the time, and I dug some other ones out.\u201d One of the guitars was the primary he ever obtained, which he received as a 16-year-old after attending a Deep Purple live performance. Another guitar Collen showcases is one he obtained for his twenty first birthday, a black and white instrument he picked out as a result of it was the identical one Ritchie Blackmore performed.<\/p>\n In one other clip, the duo takes a tour by a Fender manufacturing and design plant, with Olsson noting, \u201cThis is basically Disneyland for guitar nerds.\u201d Collen added, \u201cEvery time I\u2019ve come here \u2014 I\u2019ve been coming here for years\u2014I still get really excited.\u201d Collen shared one other story, saying, \u201cBefore I actually got a guitar, I used to go into the Fender SoundHouse in London. I would look at the guitars and just touch them. I couldn\u2019t play them. I couldn\u2019t play a single chord. It never ceases to be exciting.\u201d<\/p>\n
