However, the proof proved shaky and Al-Amin, who stays in jail, has maintained his innocence. By 2020, a \u201cconviction integrity unit\u201d started to reexamine the case.\u00a0<\/p>\n \n\tRadical <\/em>is hosted by Mosi Secret, a former reporter for The New York Times <\/em>and ProPublica <\/em>who <\/em>grew up in Atlanta\u2019s African-American Muslim group. Secret takes listeners via the odyssey that spans the Jim Crow South, the Civil Rights Movement, the War on Drugs, and post-9\/11 America.<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cJamil Al-Amin was a crucial figure in Black history, and a vibrant leader who played an integral role in establishing a religious community in one of Atlanta\u2019s oldest neighborhoods, yet many people do not know his story,\u201d mentioned Secret. \u201cThis podcast isn’t just a narrative of a brutal homicide and a manhunt, however a posh historic and political story, and one which showcases the implications of violence for a small group of African American Muslims within the South.<\/p>\n
