Canadian singer-songwriter Bruce Guthro has died on the age of 62 following a battle with most cancers.<\/p>\n

At the height of his success as a solo artist, Guthro joined Scottish celtic rock band Runrig \u2014\u00a0<\/strong>and carried out because the group\u2019s primary vocalist for 25 years.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere was one year when I came home with a big award years ago \u2026 and by far, the best part of that award, was coming home and jumping right into Bruce\u2019s (songwriter\u2019s) circle and he lifted me up like a heavy-weight boxer that night.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sampson stated there was a \u201cduality\u201d to Guthro\u2019s skilled profession.<\/p>\n

\u201cTo us at home, he was a local guy \u2026 master craftsman, mentor to all kinds of us, and then he\u2019d step off a plane in Europe and be the singer of Runrig,\u201d he stated. \u201cI don\u2019t think in North America we have an actual true sense of how big that band was.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s pretty incredible when you think about it, to be a rockstar on two different levels,\u201d he stated. \u201cI don\u2019t know anybody else in my lifetime that\u2019s had that existence.\u201d<\/p>\n
