That prompted singer\u00a0<strong>Oliver Anthony<\/strong> to specific his annoyance in a video over the weekend. Why? As far as he\u2019s involved the track is NOT conservative. He lamented amid the track\u2019s wholly surprising success:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cThe one thing that has bothered me is seeing people wrap politics up into this. It\u2019s aggravating seeing people in conservative news try to identify with me like I\u2019m one of them. It\u2019s aggravating seeing certain musicians and politicians act like we\u2019re buddies and act like we\u2019re fighting the same struggle here, like that we\u2019re trying to present the same message.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>One wants however to hear a bit of nearer to the lyrics, about \u201cworkin\u2019 all day overtime hours for bulls**t pay\u201d to see the distinction between him and the wealthy pundits and pols celebrating the monitor. On seeing his track performed on the debate, he mused:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cIt was funny seeing my song at the presidential debate. \u2018Cause it\u2019s like, I wrote that song about those people. So for them to have to sit there and listen to that, that cracks me up.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Apparently the dearth of self-awareness meant they&#8217;d no thought they had been even being lambasted by the lyrics.<\/p>\n<p>The track isn\u2019t liberal both, clearly \u2014 he talked about seeing pundits on the left \u201ctrying to discredit\u201d him, \u201cI guess in retaliation\u201d to the conservative embrace. But he wished to clarify it wasn\u2019t a commentary on\u00a0<strong>Joe Biden<\/strong>\u2018s presidency or another rattling factor these conservatives try to say:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cThat song has nothing to do with Joe Biden, you know? It\u2019s a lot bigger than Joe Biden. That song is written about the people on that stage, and a lot more too. Not just them, but definitely them.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Ha! As to his precise politics, he says he doesn\u2019t help both aspect, and it\u2019s extra sophisticated than left or proper:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s hard to get a message out about your political ideology or your belief about the world in three minutes and some change but I do hate to see that song being weaponized.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Seems to us that from the track he\u2019s singing about folks struggling whereas wealthy people in Washington, DC are enriching themselves at their expense. And that <em>is<\/em> one thing everybody ought to be capable to get behind.
