Deepest sympathies to his wife and family. I will hold deep affection and love for him in my heart always. Great musician and a great man.\u201d<\/p>\n
Drummer Mick Avory added: \u201cToday we lost a dear friend and colleague, he was a great musician and had a fantastic sense of humour\u2026Which made him a popular member of the band, he leaves us with some happy memories. Born in Devon in 1948, Gosling made his Kinks debut on the 1970 album Lola Versus Powerman and the Moneygoround, Part One<\/em> \u2013 the band\u2019s eighth studio LP \u2013 by auditioning on the demo for \u201cLola,\u201d He appeared on notable, if solely modestly profitable, albums equivalent to Muswell Hillbillies <\/em>and Everybody\u2019s In Show-Biz<\/em>, and on the 1977 set that grew to become their highest-charting within the US to that time, Sleepwalker<\/em>. He left after 1978\u2019s Misfits<\/em>.<\/p>\nGosling went on to play within the Kast Off Kinks with Avory and fellow former bandmates John Dalton and Jim Rodford and American singer Dave Clarke, taking part in with them till he retired in 2008.<\/p>\n
