With the addition of morphine and heavier pharmaceuticals, it was getting scary. COVID, chronic pain, all these things led to a place of isolation. In that place, I don\u2019t think, for her, there was much hope.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n In May of 2020, Tatum overdosed from a mixture of ache meds, opiates, and morphine.<\/p>\n A buddy discovered her in her Century City condo and rushed her to the hospital. There, it was found she\u2019d suffered a devastating stroke, leading to aphasia<\/a> \u2014 that means the components of her mind chargeable for communication had been affected. Kevin remembered:<\/p>\n \u201cIt was the phone call we\u2019d always been waiting for. She also had a cardiac arrest and a number of seizures. There were times we didn\u2019t think she was going to survive.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n He added:<\/p>\n \u201cI had to call my brother and sister and say she was thought to be blind, deaf and potentially might never speak again.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n The Paper Moon<\/em> star remained in a coma for six weeks earlier than she lastly wakened, completely unaware of her state. Kevin added:<\/p>\n \u201cShe didn\u2019t know where she was.
