The Royals<\/a><\/span> are on the hook for the rest of Dozier’s $7.25 million in 2023 and the $9 million he is owed in 2024<\/p>\n

Infielder Nicky Lopez takes Dozier’s roster spot. The membership reinstated Lopez from the 10-day injured listing on Monday after a bout with appendicitis.<\/p>\n

Dozier, 31, is batting .183 with two residence runs and 9 RBIs in 29 video games (25 begins) this season, his seventh with the Royals<\/a><\/span>. He appeared at first base, third base and nook outfield this season. He’s a profession .238 hitter with 73 homers<\/p>\n

Lopez, 28, is batting .200 with seven RBIs in 24 video games (18 begins) this season. He’s a profession .250 hitter in four-plus seasons with the Royals<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n
