James Gunn<\/a> has stated he thought-about killing off Zoe Salda\u00f1a\u2019s Gamora in 2017\u2019s Guardians Of The Galaxy<\/a> Vol. 2<\/em>.<\/p>\n The director mentioned his authentic plan for the character in an interview with ComicBook.com<\/em><\/a>, the place he defined that Marvel<\/a> executives Kevin Feige and Louis D\u2019Esposito talked him out of the choice.<\/p>\n \u201cGamora almost died in Vol. 2<\/em>,\u201d Gunn stated. \u201cI knew from the start Zoe solely wished to play the character for therefore a few years, and he or she\u2019s been very sincere saying that she\u2019s accomplished [after this]. And so I used to be going to have her die. I believed she was the one which was going to sacrifice herself, and Quill was going to study himself versus within the second film, and I believed totally different of it.<\/p>\n \u201cI was kind of talked out of it by Kevin [Feige] and Lou [D\u2019Esposito], and then it just didn\u2019t work that well. It didn\u2019t feel right, it felt much more right to go where we go in that movie. That seemed what was correct for the story.\u201d<\/p>\n In Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2<\/em>, Yondu (Michael Rooker) sacrifices himself to avoid wasting Peter Quill (Chris Pratt<\/a>). Speaking about his dying, Gunn stated he was \u201cafraid\u201d of killing off Yondu as a result of Rooker is a detailed pal, \u201cbut that was where the story naturally progressed to\u201d.<\/p>\n Gamora was later killed in Avengers: Infinity War<\/em>, with a special model of the character returning in Avengers: Endgame<\/em><\/a> and Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3<\/em> who has no reminiscence of her prior adventures with Quill, Rocket (Bradley Cooper), Groot (Vin Diesel) and Drax (Dave Bautista).<\/p>\n The determination to kill off Gamora got here from directing duo Joe and Anthony Russo, who known as Gunn to tell him about their plan for Avengers: Infinity War<\/em>.<\/p>\n \u201cThey called me up and said, \u2018We\u2019re thinking about this, does this work? Can you work with this?\u2019 And I went, \u2018Got it, yeah.
