Rock and Roll Hall of Fame CEO Greg Harris has mentioned Iron Maiden<\/a>\u2018s absence from this year\u2019s inductees checklist whereas reflecting on the opposite nominees.<\/p>\n Iron Maiden, who had been included on the fan poll this 12 months, weren’t among the many names introduced on May 3 when the 2023 induction checklist was revealed. It was revealed that the band had the fourth-highest complete for the annual fan poll, with 449,682 votes.<\/p>\n Speaking to Taryn Daily on Audacy Check In<\/a><\/em>, Harris shared: \u201cWe love that people care; That they care if they\u2019re in or out, and that their fans care. Now, the truth is, anybody that\u2019s nominated, the odds are good that they\u2019re eventually gonna get in. In fact, I think it may be as high as 90 per cent eventually go in.\u201d<\/p>\n Though there’s a \u201cfan ballot\u201d, it solely accounts for one vote. Ultimately, it’s the Rock Hall\u2019s voting that decides who will probably be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The solely fan favourite to make the checklist was George Michael<\/a> whereas Cindy Lauper<\/a>, Warren Zevon and Soundgarden<\/a> had been minimize.<\/p>\n This is just not the primary time Harris has spoken out about Iron Maiden not being inducted. In 2021, he responded to criticism after the heavy metallic band\u00a0did not safe their inclusion<\/a> on this 12 months\u2019s checklist of inductees.<\/p>\n \u201cThere\u2019s no doubt that Iron Maiden are an impactful, influential band, and that\u2019s why they were nominated this year, along with 15 other artists and acts, and when the votes came in, these six were the leaders. It\u2019s a living, breathing thing, and if you put it in a museum, then it\u2019s dead. It\u2019s worse than horrible, it\u2019s vulgar.\u201d<\/p>\n This 12 months\u2019s inductees embrace Kate Bush<\/a>, Sheryl Crow<\/a>,\u00a0Tom Morello<\/a>\u2019s band\u00a0Rage Against The Machine<\/a>, rap innovator\u00a0Missy Eliott<\/a>,\u00a0The Spinners<\/a>, and nation legend\u00a0Willie Nelson<\/a>.
