Meryl Streep’s Daughter Louisa Jacobson Says She Received a Lot of Support When She Came Out (Exclusive)



Louisa Jacobson is grateful for the help she acquired after going public along with her relationship with girlfriend Anna Blundell.

Jacobson, 33, spoke with PEOPLE on Saturday, Feb. 1, on the Human Rights Campaign 2025 Greater New York Dinner. There, she was awarded the HRC Visibility Award, celebrating her impactful work in increasing LGBTQ+ illustration on- and off-screen. 

She is the youngest youngster of Meryl Streep and Don Gummer, and goes by her first and center identify. The former couple share three different youngsters: Henry Wolfe, 45, Mamie, 41, and Grace, 38.

Jacobson spoke solely with PEOPLE about how honored she felt to be gifted the award by the HRC, which is the nation’s largest lesbian, homosexual, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ+) civil rights group. She additionally spoke concerning the current help she acquired after publicly popping out in June 2024.

“I am so, so grateful and thankful to the HRC. I was surprised because I had only recently come out,” she informed PEOPLE. “It’s such a brilliant opportunity to speak about visibility and what it means to this community and what it means to me.”

The Gilded Age actress mentioned she’s acquired “so much support” from the neighborhood. 

“I’m so fortunate to work within the business that I do. That I’m in a neighborhood of artists who additionally establish as LGBTQ,” she informed PEOPLE. “So it’s only a heat, beautiful welcome that I’m blessed to have.” Adding, “I don’t take that as a right.”

As for what she and Blundell are planning for Valentine’s Day, she informed PEOPLE they’re going dancing collectively.

At the HRC occasion when Jacobson acquired the award, she gave a speech about how vulnerability serves as a power, particularly as an actress.

“To be seen is to be susceptible. Unfortunately, vulnerability is usually seen as a weak point. But in fact, it’s one of the highly effective instruments that we have now for connection,” she mentioned.
